50 Films and 150 Screenings: Cinema Spring in Kaunas

Vilnius IFF films will be screened at Forum Cinemas Kaunas and Romuva movie theatres.

The 23rd annual Vilnius International Film Festival ‘Kino Pavasaris’ (literally ‘Cinema Spring’) will visit Kaunas, as well as a handful of other cities in Lithuania, on March 15–29th, bringing 50 of the most notable contemporary films to more than 150 screenings.

Festivalgoers in the city will have the chance to see films from renowned masters of cinema and promising talents, as well as meet with them in person.

Xavier Legrand’s psychological drama ‘Custody’ will open the 23rd Vilnius IFF, while ‘The Ancient Woods’ by Lithuanian director Mindaugas Survila will close it, in honour of our country celebrating 100 years of restored statehood.

Viewers will also have the chance to see the colourful and moving ‘The Florida Project’ and meet its director Sean Baker, watch the critical darling ‘Foxtrot’, directed by Samuel Maoz, the romantic ode to cinema ‘Redoubtable’ from Michel Hazanavicius, as well as the inspiring and lively ‘Bobbi Jene’ from Elvira Lind.

The night owls in Kaunas will once again be able to attend the ‘Shortest Night’ – the short film programme that lasts until the early hours of the morning.

The festival will screen the best Lithuanian Music Videos of 2017 (only one screening on March 16th!), while the people of Kaunas will be able to vote for the best Lithuanian actor and actress.

Vilnius IFF films will be screened at Forum Cinemas Kaunas and Romuva movie theatres.
