The house belonged to the engineer Antanas Gravrogkas, a social activist who served as the Mayor of Kaunas from 1932 to 1933. The building is one of the few residential objects designed by exceptional Lithuanian architect E. A. Frykas. The building perfectly demonstrates the harmonious play of modernist and historical trends characteristic of the architect. Among all the houses not only on Putvinskis St. but throughout Kaunas, this one is exceptionally decorative. The entrance on the right side of the facade is decorated by bas-reliefs of agrarian and mythological elements (bronze bas-reliefs “Horse Tamer”, “Reaper”, “Gatherer” were designed by sculptor Juozas Zikaras in 1933). Year: 1932. Style: Modernized classicism. Architect Edmundas Frykas.
